I cannot believe 2017 is here already, it’s crazy.
I feel like this year for me is going to be a big change. I understand that this is something that most people say every year, but I really do feel like this year is going to be really different for me, and definitely in a good way. I think that last year for me, was a really big eye opener and it has made me motivated to make this year so much better.
As I am writing this, we are halfway through January and so far, so good. I have already had some really great moments, but I have also had some bad ones, and I just think that the year has gotten off to a really steady start. We can’t all be 100% happy all of the time, and I think that is something I’ve really adopted when entering this year, and realising that it is okay to feel unhappy.
In terms of aspirations for 2017, I really think that this year I am going to focus on my education. It is a big year for me in terms of exams and GCSEs, and I’ve decided that I’m really going to put all my effort into coming out of this year with the best grades I can attain, and be able to say that I worked as hard as I could to do so. Just this month, I have sat my mocks for the GCSEs I take in the Summer. I’m not going to dispute the fact that it has been hard, especially as we went straight back to school and into mocks, but I am pleased with the grades I attained, and I definitely know where to focus my attention in the next 4 months.
In this way, however, I also aspire to put less pressure on myself. Sometimes, we don’t realise how much pressure we put on ourselves to look a certain way, or to do certain things, and I believe this is something I do quite a lot. I realised this towards the end of 2016, when I was stressing out about my blog, and how I do not have time to write posts, and that is why it was sort of abandoned for the last few months, but I’ve realised that I am just going to do as much as I can, and if that means a post goes up late, or I skip a week, then I’m not going to stress about it.
Finally, I aspire to be healthier. I know, a typical resolution, and not something that I particularly thought of as a resolution at the start of January, but it is definitely a resolution I have adopted throughout the month. I’ve not drastically changed what I was doing, but subtly introducing new things into my diet and lifestyle, which I hope will help me achieve my goal.
